‘Checking in’ on Facebook makes users susceptible to harm

Elizabeth Hankins, Editor

November 2, 2011

Facebook has always been a social network where others can look at one's statuses, pictures, and friends. But the ever-changing forum has developed throughout the years to include "checking in." This allows people to see where you are and with whom. Personally I hate it. I see why a person would like "checking in" on Facebook....

Let us get our cookies

John Kirchner, Reporter

November 2, 2011

How is it that everyday we get our food in line on our own, but when we reach for a cookie, our hands are slapped away like flies. I can't comprehend the diffference between grabbing for a piece of pizza versus a cookie. All this process does is create more work for the cafeteria workers. As a freshman at Southwest,...

Large sweet teas, other beverages banned from building

Spencer Jones

November 1, 2011

School is slowly becoming a form of punishment. It feels like our freedoms are all being stripped away, the few things that make the students still enjoy school. First the sales of "un-healthy" beverages was banned. Now an old rule is being enforced for the first time that bans students from bringing in any outside drinks...

Paying for parking is wrong

November 1, 2011

Why should students have to pay for parking tags?  It's not fair to the students who drive cars to school to have to buy a parking tag.  Who wants to pay just to drive to school? With the end of the Major League Baseball regular season coming to a close, the playoffs are upon us. From the American League I see the New York Yankees redeeming their AL crown from two years ago.
