The Lady Wildcats ended the season with a four-match 7A West Conference winning streak. On Oct. 18 the Lady Wildcats played their crosstown rivals, Springdale Bulldogs, on Senior Night. The final score for the varsity game was 25-22, 25-16, 25-18. Senior Summer Morgan had 15 kills and five blocks while senior Jamie Perry had six kills and no errors.
“Players really stepped it up and gave everything they had, which is what we needed to do,” said sophomore Anna Hudgens.
These girls have conquered many challenges together and overcame many defeats leading them to be he No. 4 seed from the West in the state tournament.
“We have the state tournament next week and it’s going to give us a chance to show what we’re really made of,” said Morgan.
Last weekend they participated in the McDonald County Tournament. The team went 4-1 in the tournament, falling in the championship game to Clever, Mo. Coach Sandy Jones scheduled this tournament because they only had one game this week and they need to be prepared before state starts.
