I cannot understand how someone can be content with a simple shower before bed, and not one in the morning. There is no way I can even BEGIN to imagine MY life, my SURVIVAL without a morning shower. This time, in many ways is the most essential part of my day. Without it there would be nothing to look forward to, nothing to get me out of bed.
I wake up in the morning and am instantly hit with my briefing, as my parents prep me for the day ahead. Mom- “You have a 4:30 hair appointment! and a”– Dad- “You still haven’t vacuumed the car son! I want it done this evening!”
My hair is crazified, and my eyes still have the little crusty eye booger things. At this point im frustrated, just longing to go back to sleep. Do my parents not understand that my brain is not comprehending information yet?
My only escape. I run into the bathroom, slam and lock the door behind me, and am instantly immersed in the hot steaminess of a morning shower.
Some people have their morning coffee. It makes them happy and more pleasant people to talk to in the morning. Coffee is great, but i instead have my morning shower.
Showers have a way of clearing one’s head. Some of the best ideas, and almost all of the solutions to yesterday’s problems come to me in the shower. Everything my brain’s proccessed for me while I was sleeping slowly unfolds as my mind, and well, my sinuses clear, at the same time.
Its a great time to pray, when you’re head is entirely clear, and you are able to free yourself from all of the things that bother and interrupt, if only for a few minutes.
In our stressfull lives, this is a time out for me. This is my time. No one can bother me, the door is locked.
Every sound is blocked out over the sound of the fan and the water fall that crashes all around me. I can no longer hear my parents, even if they were shouting that the house was burning down. It doesn’t matter, I will start the evacuation process once I’m finished, because I’m in my morning shower. Nothing else matters until this ritual is completed.
I throw some shampoo in my hair, brush my teeth (Yes, in the shower), Then, rejuvinated and reenergized, I am ready to start my day. Ready to conquer anything and everything. Well, after I put some clothes on anyway.
