Head Coach Shyrah Schisler and Assistant Coach Kele Luigs led the Lady Wildcats to 25-9 overall record and 9 and 5 in conference the exciting normal season games have come to an end. Going out with a bang and sweeping cross town rivals was a perfect end to the regular season. This season has been drastically different than years in the past. Welcoming a new Coaching staff things were all new.
“We worked a lot harder, set our standards higher, and stopped being selfish,” said senior Tiffany Ray.
The Lady Wildcats started their conference play off just right, defeating the defending state champions the Southside Rebels, it was obvious there was a new look to this team.
“Coach S. and Coach Kele have put in so much for us and we wouldn’t be where we are without them, they push you and push you, said sophomore Emily Doss.
With the regular season in the books, the most important time in the season has approached, state. This is the reason for all the hard work, and dedication that every player has put in up to this point.
“We’re peaking at just the right time. I have all the confidence in the world as we go into state,” said Ray.
Anxiousness and excitement is beginning to brew inside all the players as they prepare their minds for the task at hand.
“We have prepared all season for this. I really want to win state for the seniors because I know how bad they want it, and it’s their last chance, and we’re so close,” said Doss.
On Oct. 28 the Volleyball State Tournament started at Fayetteville High School. Har-Ber played their first game against Little Rock Central. They won all three games by a landslide, 25-18, 25-6, and 25-5.
In the second round of the state tournament Oct. 29, the Lady Wildcats were eliminated after a 3-1 loss (25-17, 25-22, 25-12, 25-22) to Conway.
