When the clock ran out senior Nelson McCoy was very disappointed with the way his last home game went as a senior. Losing with over a 20 point difference to Fayetteville, one of the best teams in the 7A division, was not the way the boys had intended their senior night game to go.
“The game was awful because of how much we lost by,” said McCoy.
Although the team faced many losses most of the guys will say as far as the team goes, the year was great.
“My experience with the basketball team here has helped me learn a lot and has helped me become a better person, so I would say it has been a success,” said senior Alex Rice.
The boys have faced many challenges this year ranging from not enough pep in the stands to spreading sickness.
“The student section this year was really inconsistent. I guess it was because they would only come to the really big games,” said McCoy.
While McCoy wished for more pep the problem senior Justin Mallott faced was sickness.
“The one game I wish I could go play again is the first time we played Van Buren because I was sick,” said Mallott.
Although Tuesday nights game was senior night not all the seniors got to see much floor time.
Knowing that their season is over is depressing but they agree it has been a wonderful experience playing on the basketball team.
“It’s kind of depressing because I have played here for three years but I am looking forward to moving on to different things,” said Rice.
