Singing, yelling, and firing up the student section are a few attributes Christopher Strok brings to the court. The new assistant volleyball coach for the Lady Wildcat played men’s volleyball at Western Michigan University prior to this job.
“I feel like my style of coaching compliments Coach Jones,” said Coach Strok. “I also think my style of coaching has been very effective for the team.”
Coach Strok is excited to be part of the Lady Wildcats and has high hopes for the team. This is his second year coaching volleyball, and he has also coached track.
“I love Har-Ber,” said Coach Strok. “I’m very fortunate to have such hard working players.”
Coach Strok is motivated and ready to see the Lady Wildcats succeed this season. Even though the volleyball team is slowly getting better, Coach Strok is not losing faith.
“I’m excited about this season. We have a good momentum going into round two of the conference,” he said. “We have a strong team.”
The players on the team are excited to have Coach Strok as their new assistant coach. The energy he brings to the games are intense and makes volleyball that much more interesting.
“He shakes everyone’s hand in the front row, and thanks them for coming,” said junior Andrew Davis, a fan. “It makes me feel pretty cool and involved in the game.”
Coach Strok also tweets scores from all the games to inform students who can not make it, and he congratulates players and the team by tagging them in his tweets.
“He’s funny and he brings excitement to the game,” said junior volleyball player Sydney Breathit. “He tells me what I’m doing wrong and how to fix it, so I really like that.”
