The Lady Wildcat soccer team played April 10 against the Northside Lady Bears and brought home a 3-0 victory. This was the last time the Lady Wildcats will ever play against the Lady Bears in the 7A West Conference.
“I think we communicated off the ball and attacked together on defense,” said sophomore MaKayla Wilson. “ Nobody tried to be the hero of the game. Instead we all worked as a team.”
Junior Lupe Lopez, sophomore Ana Martinez and junior Hailey Hendrix all scored for the Lady Wildcats, who move to 2-1 in 7A-West Conference play.
“This was the first time this season I scored in a conference game, and it felt amazing to finally being able to get back into the groove of things,” said Hendrix.
As the season is half way through, the Lady Wildcats only have four conference games left. If they continue with their determination and hard work, the Lady Wildcats have a chance to grasp their first state championship win in school history.
This coming up week, the Lady Wildcats will be hosting the Bentonville Lady Tigers on Wednesday and also playing at the Fayetteville Lady Bulldog stadium on Friday.
