At the beginning of the April 20 game against Fayetteville, the Lady Wildcat soccer team came out aggressive and attacked the field hard, getting them two early goals in first half.
Fayetteville responded quickly and tied the game 2-2. At the end of regulation, the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Wildcats with penalty kicks, 4-1.
“Staying after practice everyday gave me a lot of confidence to step up and shoot a PK in this game,” said sophomore Samantha Weber. “After I made my PK, I thought we had a really good chance of winning after playing our hearts out, even though we lost two players to injuries.”
With only three games left till the state playoffs, the Lady Wildcats have already placed a spot in the State Tournament by winning two games. The State Tournament will be held in Fort Smith. The Lady Wildcats have been working on their techniques and skills to prepare for upcoming games.
“I think we have a great chance at state this year. We keep improving individually and as a team, “ said sophomore MaKayla Wilson. “I think if we communicate a little bit more and keep practicing hard, we could definitely go to the finals and win at state.”
