The Springdale vs Har-Ber game is known for always having extraordinary student sections. But everyone, including the Wildcat basketball team, was overwhelmed by the turnout of the Har-Ber fans at the Springdale basketball game Feb. 3.

“The crowd was amazing. They gave us so much energy and confidence. We can’t thank them enough,” said senior forward Jon Vaughn.

Three students, Austin Mayfield, Preston Pianalto, and Knox Griffin, set a precedent for future student sections. Mayfield and Pianalto lifted Griffin up and let him crowd surf across the student section.

“I just thought the crowd and the students would enjoy something different,” said Pianalto.

Griffin was carried all the way to the top row of the student section. Mayfield and Pianalto began to chant “send him back!” Griffin was quickly passed head first down to the first row of the student section.

“It felt awesome. I could do it all day,” said Griffin.

Griffin promises to repeat the stunt for every rival game or games that a lot of students show up to.
