“As soon as I walked out, I was a bit nervous but was so ready to start dancing,” said senior Mckenzie Haingaertner. “The crowd was cheering so loud which made it exciting.”
The Silver Stars competed Nov. 12 at Cabot High School, hoping to bring home a runner-up or state banner. The Silver Stars competed against 10 other teams across the state, including their biggest competition, Bryant and Bentonville.
“We have practiced almost every day before school to prepare for state. I am very proud of how the team improved, and how we all bonded as the competition got heavier,” said senior Michelle Howard.
Silver Stars placed third overall in the contest, receiving first in kick, as well as third in Jazz and Pom.
“The judging for these competitions is very crucial and we gave it everything we had,” said Hangaertner. “We did our best and everyone could see that in our dancing.”
The Silver Stars hope to keep having the number one kick team in the state.
