As the big game is about to begin, junior Alex Rice presses play on his iPod and the music slowly clears his mind. This annual ritual is exactly what he did Nov. 8 before the basketball season opener.
“The win was the most memorable part of the game. I had 25 points,” said Rice.
The basketball team won 51-40 making this their first win of the season. The team hopes this win will set a precedent for the rest of their season. Especially senior CJ Tyson who hasn’t played since his sophomore year.
“It feels a lot better knowing we’ll do better than last year. We play as a team,” said Tyson.
The team has practiced very hard and a lot to achieve this win. They practice every day for two to three hours and held practices over the summer. Spending this much time together has really helped the team come together.
“Were a family,” said Tyson. “I’m pretty much always with them.”
