The boys golf team continues to excel and outshine the teams in the local area. On Sept. 13 and Sept. 15, the varsity golfers beat a number of teams in the conference at Stonebridge Meadows.
“It was a windy and chilly match. However, the team overcame the elements and shot well,” said senior Will McDoniel.
Both varsity and junior varsity won all their matches this week. The junior varsity team played Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, the junior varsity team played on the Razorback Golf course and on Tuesday the junior varsity played at Stonebridge Meadows as well.
“We won, but it wasn’t our best game. The team did alright, but we could have done a lot better,” said sophomore Nick Beyer.
The odds were against both teams at the Razorback course with a rocky turf and a windy day, but they overcame all the odds and pulled out a victory. Some of the schools we played this week were Fayetteville, Lincoln, Elkins, and Cedarville. On Thursday, it was an exciting match because they beat Fayetteville by eight strokes.
“Varsity shot a 159 tonight which is a really solid score and we are looking forward to how we will play in the next few matches,” said McDoniel.
