Cross Country is a sport that consists of major stamina, because you’re running up to two to seven miles and maybe even more. Cross country is on natural terrain.
Sept 03, 2011 marked the day of the first cross country meet. The meet was held at Shiloh Christian School. It was five kilometers long and the weather and course were major contributors on Saturdays meet.
“It was very hilly; no one likes that. The hills were the biggest and the heat, which felt like 300 degrees!” said sophomore Ricky Jones.
Time plays a big factor individually, but when you have some runners slower than others and some faster than others, the team time balances out.
“My team was pretty solid, but no one was really happy with their time” said junior Ben Phillips.
The coaches are Coach Paul Crouch for the boys and Coach Jodie Unger for the girls.
“We run everyday regardless, he’ll just say go run for 50 minutes or go run 6 miles. The cool thing is we’re all the same we joke around and have fun,” said senior Spencer Nelson.
