Senior Lindsay Coulter was warming up to the humid afternoon air when suddenly she felt cold raindrops. Both teams, Fayetteville Bulldogs and Har-Ber Wildcats waited under trees until coaches decided to reschedule the match.
Coulter has been playing for three years on the Har-Ber Tennis Team, and plays doubles with Senior Michelle Rodriguez. Though they did not win that match, they are both looking forward to keep having fun on their next match against Rogers Mounties.
“I was not really nervous, they are a pretty good team, plus it’s always good to have a challenge in a match,” said Coulter.
Rogers is a conference opponent, as well as Bentonville girls. Coach Horne is just excited to see how his girls do.
“We can compete with girls,” said Horne.
Rodriguez is proud of being on the team; she can recognize that has gotten better.
” We have a really good set of girls; our team is a lot better, we can say we have a skilled team.” Said Rodriguez.
Just because they feel ready, this is not holding them back from practicing hard everyday.
The team is ready to take the challenge with the Rogers Mounties on Aug. 30. At this moment, they have won 2 games and lost 2.
” We have a chance as long as we stay focus,” said Lindsey.
The team has also had a side match with the Shiloh Christian School, and has won twice against them.
