Sweat running down his face, junior Joseph Burns lines up for his shot.
“It was extremely hot that day,” Burns said. ” The heat makes people play worse.”
The golf team had a match Aug. 11 at Razorback Golf Course in Fayetteville. Varsity won.
“We practice at StoneBridge in Fayetteville for about 2 hours,” sophomore Nick Beyer said, ” And some mornings too.”
Even though the coach has had to cancel practices because of the heat, the golf team has performed well during their matches. Will this effect their conference play though?
“If practices and matches keep getting cancelled, I think it will,” Burns said.
Staying hydrated is a big part of staying on top of their game. Players also have to make sure they are dressed appropriately for the weather they are facing.
“Staying focused is a big part in performing well in matches,” Beyer said.
