Conference play did not start well for the Har-Ber Wildcats baseball team on Wednesday. The Wildcats took on the Fayetteville Bulldogs at Bulldog Field. Har-Ber (2-6, 0-2) dropped both games to the Bulldogs (4-2, 2-0) in the double header.
In game one, Har-Ber led 5-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, but a Fayetteville rally allowed the Bulldogs to score seven runs and hold on in the top half of the seventh to give the Bulldogs the victory.
Junior right-hander, Andrew Crook took the loss for the Wildcats, while Austin Faulconer earned the win for the Bulldogs.
In the second game, the Wildcats fell to the Bulldogs, 5-1. University of Arkansas football signee, senior Brandon Allen took the win for the Bulldogs, while Crook again took the loss for the Wildcats.
“We are a really young Har-Ber team right now,” said junior pitcher Justin Cox. “We’re struggling to mature at this point, but we’ll be alright.
