The Har-Ber track team competed at the indoor track and field state meet Feb. 19. The meet was held at Randal Tyson Track Center. Although neither the boys or girls team came away with a placing, they still showed promise in many areas.
Sixteen school records were broken in this meet, and this was after only one previous indoor meet. The boys team failed to score any points, and the girls team finished fifth overall with a score of 31. Bentonville took first with a score of 95.
The Har-Ber team will have to transition to outdoor season which will begin March 8.
“With a strong work ethic and dedicated approach everyday, the girls team will be able to compete for a conference and possible state title. It will just come down to how bad they want it both in practice and during the meets,” said senior Quinn Robertson.
Both the boys and girls teams will have to work hard to get better before the outdoor conference and state meets.
“All we have to do is run, jump, and throw better than any other team to win,” said Coach Brett Unger.
