For seniors Matt Bradley and Jason Holmstrom, their final season in a Har-Ber Wildcats uniform didn’t go like they had wanted it to. Their season came to a close last Friday, in a senior night loss to Rogers Heritage, putting the two teams in a tie for last place in the 7A-West Conference.
Unfortunately for the senior class, they became the first team in Har-Ber High School history to be left out of the 7A State Basketball Tournament, in the school’s sixth year of athletic existence.
This season was a humbling experience for the point guard, Matt Bradley.
“Getting a new coach isn’t easy, and we sure showed that this season,” said Bradley. “But I’m excited for the life ahead of me in college.”
As for forward Jason Holmstrom, he has been given the opportunity to play college basketball at Ecclesia College for head coach Brian Burnett.
“I’m excited to be able to play college basketball, and be given the opportunity to continue my education, and meet new people,” Holmstrom said.
But Holmstrom, like Bradley, was disappointed in the way he went out his senior year.
“It was really hard on us that we didn’t win many games, but we all did learn what hard work really was.” said Holmstrom.
