The Wildcats (3-23, 2-10) headed to Fayetteville Feb. 22 to take on the Bulldogs (14-12, 7-6), with one thing in mind.
Winning.
A win would mean they could keep their hopes of making the state playoffs alive.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, their bid to do so did not go well, with the Wildcats losing to the Bulldogs 55-48.
The game took a turn for the worst after an intentional foul was called on Har-Ber guard Nac Williams on a breakaway layup by the Bulldogs. The momentum had shifted to the Bulldogs, leaving Har-Ber out in the cold, with the realization that their hopes of making the state playoffs were dashed with the loss.
Fayetteville was led in scoring by Tyler McCullough with 13 points, while Har-Ber was led by senior guard Matt Bradley with 23 points, going 12-15 from the charity stripe.
“As a team we’re playing our best basketball right now, and playing with every team, it’s just not good because time has run out on us to prove that we really are a playoff team, said Bradley.
Har-Ber will take on the Rogers Mounties Feb. 24 in a make-up game from the winter weather in the Northwest Arkansas area. Har-Ber will then finish up their season Feb. 25 against the Rogers Heritage War Eagles.
