Har-Ber took on the Fort Smith Northside Feb. 18, and the Grizzlies first year head coach, Eric Burnett.
It was Burnett’s first game at Har-Ber High since he left the school last year to go back home to his dream job at his alma mater.
Seniors Matt Bradley and Jason Holmstrom looked forward to getting to play against Burnett, due to the friendship the two have built with their former coach.
“I will always root for Northside, unless he’s playing us of course,” said Bradley. “He’s a good coach and an even better person.”
Holmstrom feels the same way about Burnett, very strongly that he was a good man.
“We didn’t like him leaving, but he had to do what was best for him and his family,” said Holmstrom. “He’s done a great job with Northside, and I know he cares about us. At the same time, we wanted to beat him though and he knows that.”
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, Burnett got the best of the Wildcats this time around, 74-65. Holmstrom and Bradley led Har-Ber in the scoring column. Holmstrom with 26, and Bradley with 25.
