The Har-Ber Wildcats are getting closer and closer to their first conference game victory.
The Wildcats (1-19, 0-6) took on the Fayetteville Bulldogs (10-8, 3-2) Jan. 25 in Wildcat Arena and kept the game close throughout. Despite the close margin, they were unable to stick with the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter due to a 10-0 run, which resulted in the Wildcats losing 44-36.
Fayetteville was led in scoring by senior guard, Brandon Allen, while Har-Ber was led by senior forward, Jason Holmstrom in the scoring department with 16 points.
“We played hard, but just didn’t do quite enough to win,” Holmstrom said.
Senior guard Matt Bradley felt the Wildcats have improved and will soon get their first conference victory.
“A win will come if we keep at it and keep listening to Coach Simmons,” said Bradley. “We’re so close!”
The Wildcats next game will take place Jan. 28 at Rogers Heritage (9-10, 1-4).
