A water slide, balloons filling Mrs. Tisher’s office, and a Dum Dum sucker prank started the seniors of final week off with a few approved pranks to heighten the excitement of such a monumental week of their lives.
Growing up I always pictured the principal’s car on the roof or toilet paper hung around the school to be good senior pranks; and just to clarify none with permission from the administration before hand either. So, when I heard that all pranks had to be approved through the administration, I knew that pranks would be lame.
Filling Mrs. Tisher’s office with balloons wasn’t very entertaining and not necessarily a good prank. I also feel that it was a good way to be involved in something harmless and also a way to say goodbye. As the day advanced, more entertaining pranks came along such as the Dum Dum’s sucker prank.
I liked the concept behind it, but I wish they would’ve been able to fully saran wrap the rotunda so that the students who flocked to the suckers would’ve actually been trapped in like suckers. Whether the use of that brand of sucker was suppose to point out the similarities between the prank and those who fell for it or not, I found the use of said suckers very clever.
While this prank was slightly better than the balloons, the fact that it could not be fulfilled to its full potential made it not good enough in comparison to what was to come.
Only one of the pranks took it too far, the stink spray. It was simply disgusting. The Confederate flag and the use of water balloons and baby powder were mediocre to say the least. If the Confederate flag would’ve replaced the Arkansas flag instead of the American flag, then it would have been perfect.
The best prank of them all had to be putting Dr. Brackett’s motorcycle on Craigslist with the school’s number as the contact was hilarious and just right. It was annoying, public, and hilarious all at the same time; practically the definition of a senior prank.
