Texting is 20 years old this year. What a wonderful two decades it’s been. Originally texting was made simply to send a message to another person. I know this sounds weird, because that’s what we do now, right?
Not really. A message was probably more relative to “Don’t forget to bring your backpack to school, you dumb child,” or something along those lines.
It really is strange to me how powerfully texting has evolved. Dating is a perfect example!
Now-a-days you can message someone that you kind of know on Facebook, get their phone number, and be “dating” them by the end of the week.
Is it actually a surprise that our parents are so weirded out by modern technology? Have you seen the commercial where the guy asks his phone where his friend is, and it shows him? Is that not the creepiest thing in the world?
The weirdest part about it is that he just had to ask and the phone answered. The phone isn’t going to be like “Hey, Jacob. You don’t plan on murdering Dave with a rusty pitchfork do you?”
Even if I said yes, what’s Siri going to do? YOU’RE A PHONE, SIRI.
Also, why is it necessary for Siri to be so official with greetings? You don’t have to call me by my name, Siri. It’s especially weird that we’re able to customize greetings.
Siri calls me “White Chocolate,” and it’s really awkward when other people find out. The ladies love it though, I’m pretty sure.
My favorite part of evolving technology is high definition television. I already spend plenty of time watching tv and movies, but all the HD is not helping. If someone was going to make me choose between tv and my phone, I’d obviously choose tv, no competition.
Why would I need to interact with other people if I was able to interact with fictional characters? I love people, but fictional people are more interesting and attractive.
Tv and movies will hopefully be a career path for me, because I’d probably commit acts of violence if I spent my adulthood behind a desk. I say that now, but nobody can tell the future, not even Siri.
I’ve watched a lot of movies. It’s a problem, and I know it concerns my parents. I don’t care though. Tv over approval all day, everyday.
So, in summary, technology is scary, and I like to watch movies. Is it a mystery that I’m single? Probably not.
