I remember the first day of 10th grade. My mom dropped me off by the gym. My friend Lindsey Lucas said hi to me, and as I waved at her my purse strap broke and everything went everywhere. That is how my high school years started.
When I walked in as a senior in August, May 4 seemed so far away and everyone seemed so excited. Not Me! I don’t know how to say good bye. I don’t like saying the word “goodbye” either, but saying “See you later.” or “Farwell.” is just as hard.
Last year as a junior I thought there is nothing that will make me cry when I graduate, but that was such a lie. This year absolutely left its mark. High school is full of lifetime memories and lessons.
A single word will not express how I feel. I’m so thankful and blessed to have had the teachers I had. They taught me so much more than just math, English, vocab, but they taught me responsibility, faith, and strength.
I’m thankful for all they have done; they do more then what they are asked to do. They put up with me in class, my tardiness, not meeting deadlines; I honestly do not know how they do it. Thank you guys for helping me prepare for my future.
For future seniors: take advantage of your teachers. They will help each one of you step by step. Don’t be mean or give them a hard time. When you graduate, it’s just as hard or harder for them to see their babies walk across the stage and accept that silly paper they have been waiting for for so long.
Don’t waste time. Be on time. Meet deadlines. I know what I’m telling you. Senior year is fun and full of memories, but it is the most serious year of your life. As this chapter is closing, it doesn’t mean that I’m done. When a chapter ends, a new one is about to open.
