On behalf of the student body, we woefully apologize for our transgression of failing to present our school identification cards, and realize that our punishment of two days detention is thoroughly appropriate.
We take notice of our heinous crime and the danger it poses to not only ourselves but to our ever-aspiring classmates. It may lead to those administrators to issue a punishment for our dire actions. A lack of a strong fist might reveal an environment of unidentified free thinkers, who may disregard their leaders.
We admit guilt for bringing our school and surroundings at large, so nail-bitingly close to utter chaos.
While we respect this fine institution’s decision to pursue the unidentified masses, may we also bring your attention to others who are threatening the very plastics [foundation] of our school: those with unofficial derogatory twitters, those persons wearing open-toed shoes in chemistry laboratories, those with unacceptable “air ball” cheers in the student section, and last but certainly not least individuals distributing drug paraphernalia during passing periods.
The punishment must fit the offense. Having a teacher take your I.D. and then getting punished again for not having an I.D. when checking in or out is not fair. Are we supposed to magically have two? To be punished for the same offense even though you were not at fault in the subsequent offense seems unreasonable.
We accept our punishment with all due respect. We recognize the necessity with which to maintain some semblance of control. However, aren’t there bigger fish to fry in the high school frying pan?
