First lady Michelle Obama started her on own campaign called “Let’s Move”. This program is to raise awareness about the country’s childhood obesity problem. One in three American children are overweight or obese, increasing their risk of developing life-altering illnesses like diabetes. So, Mrs. Obama is teaching kids to exercise more and eat healthier.
The President’s wife has been rolling out new series of television ads promoting her “Let’s Move” campaign. Most of these ads for this campaign are geared toward children; therefore, the Disney Channel has been her main source of her message.
“Eating better and getting more active is easier than you think,” said Michelle Obama on a Disney T.V. ad.
I believe that this program is a very beneficial program because with a healthier society we have a happier and safer America. The only way to ever beat obesity is if we focus on children at a young age, so children can grow up knowing healthy life styles. Michelle Obama’s actions have shown children there are other healthier habits and actions to live.
It’s about time someone took control of Americans problems. Some kids aren’t taught about these health concerns, and if these children grow up still not knowing about these problems, then generations after them won’t be taught about these risks.
If the nation wants to ever make a dent in stopping obesity, we need to start now!
