Sitting in class and hearing your teacher cuss in the middle of the lecture is a surprise. It will make you listen more carefully to what your teacher might say next. Some students might think hearing a teacher cuss during class might be “cool” or “interesting,” but I think it is unprofessional and totally inappropriate to cuss during class or during school time.
Teachers cussing in class may make students see their teacher as one of their friends instead of someone in charge of the classroom. This might cause the students to think that there are no rules in the class, that the relaxed atmosphere means that due dates or assignments might not apply to them.
Some students might be offended by hearing a teacher cuss in class. They might have been brought up in a house where cussing was not accepted or used. Hearing cuss words being use so freely and by an authority figure might make them think it’s alright for them to use them and might get them in trouble later on.
Teachers using cuss words in class is unprofessional. Teachers are suppose to set good examples for their students. Cussing is largely frowned upon in the professional world and teachers are suppose to be preparing students to succeed in that world. Making cussing alright in the classroom is not doing so.
Teachers shouldn’t cuss in class because it’s unprofessional, disrespectful, and inappropriate. Cussing in class not only causes trouble in the classroom, but it could also cause trouble when students graduate and enter the working world. Teachers are suppose to be setting the example, not demonstrating a lack of professionalism in the classroom.
