When asked for an explanation for my cheery demeanor in the early hours of the day, I do not hesitate. The answer is simple, breakfast. While knowledge and spirituality feed the mind, breakfast has a dual effect as it nourishes the body and soul.
In my mind few things can better prepare you for the day than whole grain toast with natural peanut butter, cinnamon, and bananas.
While everyone’s ideal breakfast is unique, the concept is the same. Breakfast rejuvenates your body after a long night’s sleep, jump starts your metabolism, boosts brain power and provides energy for the upcoming school day, and adds a healthy bout of routine to your life.
The meal also allows time for reading, contemplating, and fellowship with family. The time spent on breakfast is irrelevant. A person can spend ten, thirty, or sixty minutes on the meal and reap all the same rewards.
Breakfast is such a vital part of my life that if I had three wishes, one would definitley be that entire world would have the ability to enjoy a leisurely healthy breakfast every morning. So if you are already not a habitual breakfast eater, why not give it a try?
