Dear Springdale School District and the community of Springdale,
It’s time to put our money where our mouth is. It’s time to giver our students here at Har-Ber the athletics facilities that they deserve. The Springdale School District has said that they want both Springdale and Har-Ber to be on par with other high schools in Northwest Arkansas, as far as facilities go. Well, when it comes to athletic facilities, Har-Ber is definitely lacking in that department. Here at Har-Ber we currently are without a: football stadium, an indoor practice facility, a baseball and softball complex, a track, tennis courts, et. We recently had head football coach Chris Wood get offered a job in the state of Alabama to take a job as the head football coach at McGill-Toolen High School in Mobile, AL, a 6A school (the highest classification in the state of AL). Luckily Wood declined the offer to remain at Har-Ber and continue to build his program. However the question is, what’s going to keep our coaches here in the future if they don’t have the athletics facilities they need to better improve our athletes? Who’s to say that the next time one of our coaches gets a job offer, that he won’t jet? To better improve our chances of keeping our coaches, we need to have the facilities to allow us to better our student athletes. So Springdale, what I’m trying to say is: Give us the athletics facilities we deserve.
