Choosing certain classes for the following year is the last thing on some people’s minds, but for me it’s stressful. Finally, when everything seems to be right March comes soon enough. With March comes decisions and responsibilities because it’s time for CAP (Career Action Plan).
Going through the CAP process as a freshman or a sophomore isn’t that bad because even though you wanted to take something you still have the next year. When it’s CAP time during junior year, it’s stressful. You have to make sure you have all credits that are required. My third hour teacher had merely talked about how CAP was coming up, but she hadn’t even passed out any of the paperwork and I was already nervous. I knew this was it, any course that I wanted to take I had to take now because I wouldn’t get another chance later.
From the time when we first entered high school, we knew that we needed four math credits, four English credits, three history, and three science credits. By senior year almost all of the credits are fulfilled and senior year is full of options. You’re able to take classes that you want and what you’re interested in.
Teachers gave us a course recommendation sheet for us to get signed by our teacher. I had the sheet with me for a week. I tried putting off as much as I could because I was not sure what classes to take. I knew that I wanted to graduate with Medical Honors, so I was sure to get my medical classes in. I had heard so many good things about AP Psychology, so I wrote that down as well. I eventually got it done but was unsure of a couple course selections.
CAP during senior year could be exciting as well as terrifying. I was excited that senior year was finally approaching. Finally after twelve years of attending school, senior year is here and we get to GRADUATE.
