The Future Farmers of America hosted a pancake breakfast Feb. 24 for the teachers. The officers managed to get food donated like bacon and sausage from Tyson Foods in order to lower the cost. They cooked pancakes, eggs, cavon, and sausage for the teachers, as well as served them milk, orange juice, and coffee.
“We are doing this to show how much we really do appreciate our teachers for always working around our schedules,” said FFA officer Jordan Jaro.
Each officer was in charge of a specific job in order to make this happen along with the FFA members who were in charge of cooking, preparing, and serving the teachers who show up bright and early that morning.
This pancake breakfast has become a tradition for the FFA students. Once a year the FFA officers organize the breakfast and host it every year since the FFA program started in 2006.
In order to prepare and advertise for the pancake breakfast, each individual officer had hand written a letter to each one of their teachers to invite the teachers to the pancake breakfast. An email from agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor Miss Patti Priest was also sent to inform the teachers of the event.
“We are hoping that all the people invited show up, but we are extpecting half the staff with 200 visitors,” said Jaro.
The members of the FFA club will be at the school at 6:30 a.m. cooking to show all the staff how much they appreciate all the stuff they do for them.
