Many talented students in Art 1-3D are having a wire sculpture Facebook challenge. This contest consists of them taking pictures of their sculptures and uploading them to their Facebook pages.
“I try to find ways for students to showcase their work in anyway. Most kids today have a Facebook profile and keep up with family and friends through technology. I thought this would be an excellent way to have them show off their work and to let others in their lives show off their work and to let others in their lives in on what they are up to in art class,” said art teacher Dawn Graham.
These handmade sculptures are made from unique wire. It is a very flexible 14 gauge aluminum wire, and some students used about a 26-28 gauge stainless steel wire to add detail their sculpture. Each student had about two weeks to complete this project.
This competition started Jan. 26 and will continue until Feb. 16.
The winner of this creative challenge will receive a gift certificate to either Arsagas coffee shop or Shake’s frozen custard. To become a winner of this challenge the student must have the most “likes” on their photo posted than any other student in their class.
“I love the creativity that went into my students’ work. Many of them went above and beyond and used their critical thinking in figuring out how to show form with line and how to show detail as well,” said Mrs. Graham.
Mrs. Graham is very proud of her students and their artwork. Participate in this challenge by pressing “like” on their sculpture picture to help them become a winner.
