As senior Alexander Ross studies for one of his four Advanced Placement classes he is more stressed out about his mid-west trip to Chicago. This is the time of year that marks the date when kids start freaking out about finals.
“I usually try to study for eight hours,” said Ross who has not received his reviews yet for his class, so he plans to use his AP book to study until he does.
Some sophomores have already received their reviews and began studying.
“Geometry, AP U.S. History, and Biology,” said sophomore Jacob Benson. “I’m somewhat nervous about it, but I feel like I’m prepared enough to not stress about it.”
Finals are worth 20 percent of your grade, which means those final scores have a huge impact on your final grade. Some students are having to take more than one AP class final in one day. On the other hand, some students are not feeling so stressed about their finals.
“I’m taking three AP classes and I feel relaxed about them,” said junior Sam Rainey. “I will definitely study from the reviews my teachers are going to give me.”
Although finals are a major contributor to a student’s semester grade, they have no reason to stress over them if they take the simple actions to prepare. Finals will be held Dec. 15-16 and 19-20. On Thursday first and fourth periods are giving finals, second and fifth periods on Friday, third and sixth on Monday, and seventh period on Tuesday.
