Everyone has their definition of a perfect snow day. Maybe it’s spending quality time with one’s family or just reading a good book while sipping on hot chocolate.
For sophomores Blake Taylor and Zac DeShazo just being as bizarre as possible is the perfect way to enjoy a snow day.
Taylor and DeShazo were visiting some friends in Branson when the four inches of snow fell Januay 19, foreshadowing the exciting two days ahead.
“It was awesome and cold, but we definitely made the most out of the days,” said Taylor.
“The best part of the whole vacation was when we got out of the hot tub in our swimsuits and sprinted outside in the snow and made snow angels. It was cold but it was worth it,” said DeShazo.
But that wasn’t all that was in store for Taylor and DeShazo, as they were up for hiking next.
“We went hiking which was so fun, but at that point we were not really looking at the dangers: like no reception and the four inches of snow. We were just enjoying our snow days,” said Taylor.
“This trip was so relaxing, and it just gave us a break from school and following rules,” said DeShazo.
Taylor and DeShazo were having a blast in Branson, but junior Emma Gartner was just having a good old time with some friends at her house.
“We ran outside in shorts and a T-shirt. We tried to make snow angels and see who could last longer outside. It was freezing, and I probably won’t do that again,” she said.
Being out of school for three days now due to the snow makes the last official school day June 1.
