Recently various Goodwill stores have begun to spring up around Northwest Arkansas. The most recent addition had its grand opening Sept. 13 in Fayetteville on 705 E. Appleby Road, formerly an Aldi. With this newest addition to Fayetteville, Goodwill has opened its doors to its sixth NWA location out of 23 in the state.
Goodwill is an organization that funds job training, employment placement services and other community programs by selling donated clothes and household items at Goodwill retail stores and online. Many students donate clothes and other items as well.
“Anytime I have stuff to get rid of I give it to Goodwill,” said junior Jaclynn Pianalto.
Other organizations from school donate as well, including the debate program.
“The Goodwill in Springdale is a vital organization to our city, for our students and families alike. Contributing to the Goodwill is simply a great way to invest in our community, just as they have invested in the future of our students, both at Har-ber and SHS,” said Debate Coach Taneisha Marshall.
For the bargain hunter Goodwill is an excellent way to obtain accessories, house ware, toys, flatware, vintage and designer items for a fraction of the original price.
“I got a rocking jacket from Goodwill, practically new, micro suede Ralph Lauren, and paid $6! It was forest green,” said junior Zoe Keller.
As for treasure hunters, Goodwill is also a hot spot for finding unique, one-of-a-kind items.
The Goodwill in Springdale located on 1860 W Sunset Ave. is always accepting donations and has a very friendly staff. As well as having a large selection, the facility also offers resume help and computer classes.
The participation of students around the community impacts Springdale in a great and effective way and Goodwill is an important part organization that aids the general public.
