When her friends began to swarm towards her eclectic and changing hairstyles and began asking her to cut and dye their hair too, junior Kaydee Ferrell found her passion.
Ferrell has been doing her own hair since 8th grade. She started practing on her friends and family’s hair not long after, and she’s cut many of her friends’ hair.
Ferrell has had all the colors under the sun painted into her hair. Her hair length and style changes as often as the wind.
“I love the way that she cuts hair, and she does layers really well! I would recommend her,” said senior Ivy Platt who’s had her hair cut by Ferrell.
“She cuts their hair and dyes their hair, and it usually turns out pretty good,” said sophomore Jon Ferrell, Kaydee’s brother.
“She always has her hair a specific style, and it says a lot about her personality and how she likes to keep herself, and I would not mind getting my hair done by her because I know I would look good,” said sophomore Diamond Moore, who is friends with Ferrell.
There’s no doubt of her talent, and obvious creative vision, but hair isn’t her true calling. Ferrell is also quite passionate about art, which she is known to be quite good at too.
“There are people who, like, hair is their life, and hair is not my life. Yes, I love hair, definitely, but it’s not something that I want to do for the rest of my life,” said Ferrell. “I really like photography.”
This does not mean that she does not still love to do hair as a hobby though, and with a wink and a shrug she adds that she’ll always accept cash.
