Jeanie Nance dazzled her Language Academy students by taking them outside to enjoy the snow Feb. 13. It was the students first time to meet with snow.
“I saw it would be a great idea to have them enjoy the snow and play together. I wanted them to go out and enjoy the snow with their friends since they don’t always have this opportunity. Some of them were nervous and would not get out from under the roof, but sooner than later, I got them to come out,” said Mrs. Nance.
Sophmore Giovanni Mendoza, Jore Trejo. Ruben Trejo, Aimon Kios, Melisa Namwe, and Danty Molik are the lucky students who played outside. They where actually playing outside while it was snowing.
The students had a big snow ball fight including Mrs. Nance. Namwe made her first small snow man.
“I was really happy,” said Namwe.
Many of the students came from either the Marshall Islands or Mexico. In Molik and Mendoza position, their family had already seen snow.
Mrs. Nance saw it the great idea to have them play in the snow with their friends, because they don’t all have the opportunity to play with their friends because they are either usually in class or at home.
