On the day after turning in his two week’s notice at Zaxby’s, senior David Hart’s boss gave him the pink slip.
“I was going slow on my drive-through time, but it was more because he wanted to get rid of man hours,” said Hart.
After Hart was relieved from his position, he found a better job at Metropolitan Bank where he is now a teller. Being involved in the financial world puts Hart more in line with his future plans. Likewise, senior Taylor Passmore’s dismissal from her job at Skake’s gives her more free time to focus on her passion as well.
“Being fired from Shakes led me to have more time to work on my craft fair stuff which was like my own business, which enabled me to make more money,” said Passmore.
Passmore was let go because Shakes was consolidating employees but also because Passmore and other employees didn’t try as hard as others.
“I also got fired because I didn’t take it seriously,”she said.
Junior Haley Wade was also let go from Shakes.
“I don’t really know why they let go a lot of employees from the Kyle Era,” said Wade.
Like Passmore, Wade also dismissed the firing as a way to gain more experience in life.
“It was a learning experience which makes you adapt to new environments because I had worked there for so long,” said Wade.
