“Act of Valor” was released in theaters Feb. 24. This war film is about an elite team of Navy SEALs that go on a covert mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent. Once they complete their mission and rescue the CIA agent, they uncover secrets of a large terrorist plot targeting major U.S. cities.
This movie is an unusual film because the characters are very inexperienced as actors because they are real life Navy SEALS. “Act of Valor” manages to deliver intense and exciting action. These real life Navy SEALs are the film’s greatest strength because no actor could pull off the stunts or emotions that SEALs go through on a daily basis.
These actors were also a weakness because they are very inexperienced and didn’t connect with the crowd watching the movie.
You’ve got to respect the constant training they’ve undergone to perform these tactical fears, and seeing the strategies unfold is impressive. The men filmed the movie between missions and allegedly used live rounds on set.
“Act of Valor” tells a great story and is very inspirational. This movie received a 7 out of 10 rating by other critics, but I would give this movie 8.5 out of 10 if you are wanting to see amazing footage and creativity.
