#ThatAwkwardMomentWhen…it is safe to say that certain situations are simply impossible to avoid. There is always that awkward first time to hang out with someone, especially if it is someone of the opposite sex. Or maybe everything is going fine and dandy until an outside interference occurs.
“I was bowling with my boyfriend a few weekends ago and everything was going great, but then Ms. Ogden popped out of nowhere!” said sophomore Macey Martinez.
There’s something about running into one of your teachers while on a date that just makes things a little uncomfortable.
“I sorta broke the ice and said hi and took a picture with her. Then I just went back to what I was doing,” said Marinez.
Some people set themselves up for sticky situations though.
“One time it was snowing and I was supposed to go sledding with my boyfriend,” said sophomore Dinah Beneford. “He randomly brought his best friend, and with my luck it was my ex,” said Beneford.
This was definitely one of those “chew it over with a Twix” moments. Nobody can truly prepare themselves for a moment like this.
“I completely froze, and once everyone put all the pieces together, I ended up sledding with two people that were mad at each other,” said Beneford.
It is incredible how quickly a situation can change its course and become of your most awkward memories.
“We went to see ‘Fired Up’ on our first date and he forgot his wallet, so I had to pay for everything,” said sophomore Elizabeth Phillips. “I had to buy popcorn, coke, and a pretzel. Then he didn’t even say thank you. Then when he took me home he was trying to kiss me, but I turned and he kissed my ear.”
A second date wasn’t exactly in the cards for those two lovebirds. Not everyone is up for multiple chances. Some dates may be awkward, but if you keep trying you might find one that’s worth remembering.
