Director Asger Leth has created a movie that exceeded my expectations. “Man on a Ledge” was amazing and full of suspense with Sam Worthington as the main character Nick Cassidy, Jamie Bell as Joey Cassidy, and Genesis Rogriquez as Angie.
The movie begins with Nick Cassidy (a former cop) in prison for a crime he claims to have not committed. After the death of his father Nick Cassidy is allowed to go to the funeral with the company of two other cops.
While at the funeral Nick Cassidy manages to escape the police and a month later steps out onto a ledge on the 21st floor of a hotel. Hundreds of people below urge him to jump, and a police psychologist tells him to come back inside.
His brother, Joey Cassidy, and his brother’s girlfriend are across the street stealing from the man who took everything from Nick.
The acting in this movie was great. I really felt for Nick Cassidy and what happened to him. The brother and girlfriend really did well as the source of all action. The suspense was heavy with all the dangers Joey Cassidy and Angie faced for Nick Cassidy, who could, at any minute, fall off of the ledge.
Although the camera work in this movie wasn’t the best ever, it was still sound without any shaky shots. The story was very well-written and left no room for confusion at the end. All my questions were answered by the end of the movie. As the movie played out I was kept in suspense waiting to see what would happen next.
Overall I enjoyed this movie would most definitely see it again.
