“Dream House” premiered on Sept. 30 staring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, and Naomi Watts. The main character of this movie is a father named Will Atenton. His wife, Libby, and two daughters, Trish and Dee Dee, move to New York so Will can work on his novel.
The family bought their “Dream House” in a small neighborhood. Trish and Dee Dee start seeing a man watcing the house from the front yard, so Libby and Will begin to look for evidence of somone watching them.
Soon, they discover that their new beautiful home was once the scene of a gresuome murder of a mother and her two children. The father of this family, Peter Ward, was the suspect of the crime scene. Peter Ward was sent to a psychiatric hospital but was let off because of the lack of evidence.
Will starts to believe that Peter Ward has returned and is stalking his family. Will Atenton then starts doing research on Peter Ward and finds out some very disturbing information.
This movie was somewhat good. Although, the movie was well cast, it had many flaws. The previews of “Dream House” made the movie seem like a great thriller, but the movie itself was slow, stuffy, and way too obvious to be scary.
“Dream House” had many turns of events, but the plot was easy to predict and did not have many scary moments.
The film received mostly negative reviews from critics. The average rating of this disappointing movie was a 3.8 out of 10. However, I think this movie was good, but not great by an means.
