Boys golf season comes to a close

With the season to an end the boys golf team looks to take a lap down memory lane. Looking back on the season, goals set, and looking towards the future as well.

“We started off okay and didn’t perform as we would have liked too, but we had some good scorers from Jack Collins and Logan Mayo so that was good for us.” Senior Luke Jewell said.

With the slow start, the team was able to get back on track by having players like sophomore Jack Collins and freshman Logan Mayo, placing one and two in some tournaments.

“I think considering our circumstances this year of having this pandemic going on, I think we did pretty good.” Senior Bryce Williams said “Considering what we had to go through this year.”

With the circumstances against the team, they persevered and finished the season competing as best as they could. The competition hit when the team went to state looking to the best they can and preferably make it to day two of the tournament.

“We were going to the state tournament facing some tough competition and we didn’t perform like we would have liked too, but we had a fun season overall.” Jewell said. “I liked the competition, meeting new friends from other teams, and always making myself do better.”

With the season to an end, by the state tournament, the team had set goals for this season.

“Our goals were to get better as a team and try and do better each and every time” Williams said “Our goals were also trying to get better as individuals and sculpted individuals and also build up our team”

With a young good core of the team returning next season the team will look to get revenge at next year’s state tournament,

“We have a really good young team so we are looking forward to next year.” Jewell said
