Eight wresters return to lead the team on the mat

Wildcats prepare for the season ahead

The  wrestling season is now in full swing for the Wildcats with a record of And the entire team is confident that this season will be one to remember. Coach Eric Nolan has high hopes that his wrestlers will step up and make an impact this season.

“We’ve got a lot of guys that have worked really hard last season, so I feel like we’ve got some guys that can step up”, said Nolan.

This season, many returning wrestlers are expected to step up and lead the team.

“We have eight out of fourteen starters back,” he said. “I feel pretty good about that really. I feel like we’re ready to have a pretty good season.”

There are many seniors on the wrestling team that are wrestling for their last season this year, and they are ready to give it their all. Senior Britton Bowman is expecting a positive outcome of the season.

“We have a bunch of guys going into this season that have been dedicated since I started wrestling, and a bunch of them are seniors,” he said, “and it’s kind of our last shot at it.”

Bowman is confident in these seniors, and the team will be prepared for their last season.

“I think we have the heart and the power to get it done,” Bowman said. “We just need to keep that throughout our season.”

The team is full of wrestlers who are ready to make an impact on the team and hopefully lead the team towards a state championship. Coach Nolan and Bowman mention multiple wrestlers who they feel will step up and take the lead this season.

Max Linus, Brendan Davis, and Dante Pellin were mentioned and were congratulated for their efforts on the team. The wrestling team has a history of success and the team is hoping this year, their efforts and hard work will pay off. Staying concentrated and keeping a good mentality is very important when searching for success.

“We shouldn’t be cocky for sure, but also we shouldn’t doubt ourselves,” said Bowman.

Wrestling is a sport that takes talent, concentration, and dedication. And wrestlers like Bowman will give up nothing to make their last season memorable.

“This is my ninth year wrestling, and there isn’t a match where I don’t walk out without butterflies,” said Bowman. “I’m excited for the match, and I know that’s how every wrestler feels.”
