The Dino Gang

Sitting in the bleachers, the entire student body sees Spanish teacher Leo

Hernandez finish his dip and sip to Blanco Brown’s “The Git Up”. A group of basketball, football and baseball players meet in the middle of the Wildcat Arena. All of them have on wild purple shorts with something that looks like a dinosaur on them. It may be school spirit, or it may be something bigger.

“Well, everyone was like, kind of like, what the heck, there’s like 15 different guys wearing them. They saw it as something funny,” senior Blaise Witchen said.

Ben Stacy and Seth Nerenberg were the ones with the idea. “Me and buddy Seth Nerenberg  were just hanging  out,” senior Ben Stacy said. “We were just walking around Walmart one day, we saw them on the rack, and we automatically both looked at each other and knew we had to get them.”

With this many people in the group, there’s no way there can only be one leader.

“I think that Seth Nerenberg and I are like co-leaders of it because we were the ones that originally bought the shorts and got other people to get them,” Stacy said.

More and more people are joining in this movement leading to even more ideas to bring them together.

“Caleb Burns and I are going to try to sell shirts and make a little money. So that’s our plan right now,” Wittschen said.

There’s already 17 people that have been recruited into this group because of others talking about where this could be going.

”I think around 16 or 17. It’s a pretty big deal,” Nerenberg said

The guys aren’t stopping here. They want to have more than a handful of people.

With more people participating in the group, who knows where this idea could end up by the end of the year.

“The city, just wherever. The shirts and stuff on our Snapchat story got people’s attention and lots of people from other cities were like I want one. So we’re gonna take this thing world wide,” Nerenberg said.
