The words “loan” and “debt” often leave a bad taste in one’s mouth. However, though student loans might not be the first place one should turn to, they are still another method of providing the little extra money needed when traditional financial aid comes up short.
66 Federal Credit Union is providing a workshop on February 2 to help educate students and parents on the numerous types of financial aid available, including student loans. The workshop will take place from 6-7pm in the Seminar Room at Har-Ber Highschool.
“There will be a young lady coming from Student Choice to talk about the opportunities that the Federal Credit Union Can Provide,” said Mr. Aubrey Carrington.
The seminar, lead by Mrs. Melissa Hunt, will explore many methods of receiving financial aid, such as through the FAFSA, Government Subsidy Loans, and the Youth Department of Education. It will also discuss how to establish a line of credit with the bank.
“The total amount of money that the Federal Credit Union can loan is $75,000,” Mr. Carrington said.
A great deal more information about loans, and other financial solutions for attaining the college dream will be available at the seminar.
