Football season is winding down, and that can only mean one thing: Super Bowl XLVIII is coming.
This year will include the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. A few of Har-Ber’s very own will be hosting parties to root on their favored teams.
“I’ll be ordering food, and friends are bringing snacks and drinks,” said sophomore Jacob McDaniel.
“I’m just ordering a bunch of food and cleaning house,” said football coach Coach Gregory Simpson.
Many agree that this super bowl couldn’t be much more promising.
“With the number one offense versus the number one defense, I think it’s going to be a good game,” said sophomore Drew Dodson.
There is a large division between fans. Many people want the Broncos to win because of Peyton Manning, but many people want the Seahawks to win because of the young and flashy attitude of the team.
“I’m kind of rooting for the Seahawks; they’re young and have a good team, [they’re] very flashy, and have a great defense,” said McDaniel.
On the other hand, Peyton Manning has faced adversity after having been fired in Indianapolis and being told he wouldn’t play, and then being brought back on the team, therefore many people have a high desire for the Broncos to win.
“I would like to see Peyton win because of all the adversity he faced in the past,” said Coach Simpson.
This year, every fan is most excited about the game and the match-up of teams.
“A lot of people want either team to win,” said McDaniel. “There’s definitely going to be a big division of fans,” said Dodson.
Even though most people have their favorite team, most every fan will agree that all they really look for in a game is that it’s a good game.
“I just hope that it will be a decent ballgame and not a ‘track meet’,” said Coach Simpson.
