Haunted houses bring about halloween spirit

When I think of Halloween and October, my mind instantly defaults to haunted houses. Volunteers dressed in creepy costumes, popping out at the most unexpected times and shrieking in your face can really get under your skin and make your heart race. However, I like to think the horrors of haunted houses during Halloween do not phase me at all, which is true for the most part.

Personally, I am a fan of haunted houses. I think they are good way to get into the spirit of Halloween, and I think they are a fun outing with your friends. A quick meal before, since you might not have an appetite after, and a trip to a haunted house is a great way to spend a Friday night.

While some people are petrified of the eerie mazes or tight spaces, the alarming creatures or whatever the haunted house features, I find them entertaining. I take humor in the people who let haunted houses get to their head, the people who tremble with fear. I also enjoy the different types of people that show up to scare you every year, and the intricate makeup and costumes.

This year I went to the haunted house in Bella Vista. It was my first time to this haunted house and I was rather impressed. A bus with a clown’s head on the front transfers you to the maze you must navigate through. Along the way there are a variety of frightening people who try their best to raise bumps on your skin. Even though it was a quick walk through, it was a quality haunted house.

Overall, I enjoy going to haunted houses for the holiday. If they scare you out of your mind and you cannot sleep for nights on end, the haunted house has done its job. However, they might be a way to grow closer with your friends as you cling to one another through fear of what is ahead.
