The news has helped people all over the world with their questions about what is going on in the world. Whether it is in their neighborhood, in their state, in their country, or in the world. However, even with this help they offer, people still dislike the news. They see it as a place full of lies and twisted truths. I personally think that the news is one of, if not the most important thing in the world. It gives information that may be useful to our survival or about something that could affect a certain group of people. Sometimes the news can be deceiving though. Like with a certain “incident” involving police, they waited until people were willing to do drastic things until they released the body cam of the officer to show what happened that day. So my opinion of them is not very great.

Of course, now that I am a part a school of news media, my opinion isn’t as bad as it was because I now know that some news doesn’t lie or cheat or do anything shady to get the news to people. I, of course, think that COVID-19 has also affected local news by making it harder for in-person interviews and ways to get people to talk about anything other than COVID-19. I think that there is no need for these precautions because, as we have learned, they don’t really do much. But that’s what’s good about the news! It keeps you up to date about what is going on with things like Covid-19 or with people doing bad things. No matter what people say or what shady things the news does, like holding information until a later date, or being very biased about what they write about, or how they for some reason think that holding things back from the people is a good thing. Back then you would see just how bad the world is. I mean they showed 9/11 when it occurred. Now all you get is them showing their reactions to something. Despite all of these things, I still think that they are one of the most important things in our world.
