Minecraft is a first person sandbox Role Playing game. The world around you in the game consists of 3D blocks that have different textures to make them look like dirt, wood, leaves, etc. Players can place and destroy blocks anywhere on the world.
The main objective of the game is to survive.
When you create a new world, it is daytime. Your objective is to gather some supplies and have some form of shelter by the time nightfall arrives. When the moon rises, monsters come out and will try and kill you. Unless you established your shelter early on, you will have to fight them off or die and restart. If you were lucky enough to get inside of a shelter, whether it be a house you built or a makeshift cave built into the side of a mountain, you now can proceed to craft your tools.
These tools are used for various reasons. There is an end to the game; however, you will not reach it for a while.
Minecraft is a source to unlimited amounts of fun. You can literally create anything your mind can dream up. Everytime you sit down and play it is an entire new experience. At no time will anything occur twice. Everything about the game is different and will keep you entertained for hours. The game also has multiplayer allowing you to interact with other people.
Minecraft originally started out as a personal project by a Swedish man named Markus Persson or “Notch” which is his online alias. He had absolutely zero intention to release it as a game, but it has since then sold over 4.2 million copies. This is very impressive considering Mojang, the company that publishes the game, have invested nothing into advertisement. The game spread by people telling their friends.
Minecraft is an overall must-buy for anybody. The game is really fun and never disappoints. It was definitely money well spent.
